The Office of Christian Formation serves the Diocese and the Bishop as part  of the Pastoral Services Education division of the Diocesan Curia. It is "the means by which the Bishop, as head of the community and teacher of doctrine, directs and moderates all of the catechetical activities of the diocese."
(General Catechetical Directory #126)

    The Office of Christian Formation of the Diocese of Lubbock seeks to enlighten, empower, and enable the faithful of the Diocese to live to the fullest of their baptismal call to be the People of God. This call flows from the mission and ministry of Jesus, and is three-fold:
  • a form of the MINISTRY OF THE WORD which proclaims and teaches;
  • it leads to persons to, and flows from the MINISTRY OF WORSHIP;
  • which prepares persons for the MINISTRY OF SERVICE
    (National Catechetical Directory).

    The foundation for efforts to fulfill this Mission, and to bring about the Kingdom of God are: faith development and prayer, a consistent effort to put families and children first, a way of operating that seeks peace and justice as it teaches about them,

    Recognizing that the faith journey as the People fo God is life-long and in accordance with the Diocesan Mission and Vision Statement, OCF provides a variety of programs, experiences, and services to assist growth and development in the fields of religious education and pastoral ministry.
